HUNGARY CREEK RECREATION ASSOCIATION RULES AND REGULATIONS 

The pool and the other facilities are operated for the enjoyment of all members, therefore, it is essential  that all members and their guest(s) act in a safe and courteous manner as well as observe the following rules and regulations. 

The entire facilities of the Association are under the direct supervision of the Pool Manager. The Pool Manager may delegate the responsibility for enforcing the rules to the staff members. All of these individuals have been instructed to enforce the rules and regulations and they are authorized to take such steps as necessary to ensure safety and proper conduct. The Pool Manager is directly accountable to the Board of Directors. 

MEMBERSHIP/GUEST 

  1. All membership fees, annual dues, and charges must be paid in full prior to the use of the Association’s facilities and all members and guests must check in at the front gate before entering the pool enclosure on each visit. 
  2. Members who sneak in guests or falsify the identity of a member will be fined a $50 fee and risk losing their membership. 
  3. Under no circumstances will anyone use the pool except when lifeguards are on duty. Hours of operation will be posted on the pool website (www.hungarycreek.org) 4. The Association will not be responsible for any money or property loss sustained by members or their guests when using the Association’s facilities. 
  4. Children under twelve (12) years of age must be accompanied by someone 16 years of age or older. This includes guests. 

SAFETY

  1. Anyone being disruptive or unsafe, as deemed by the Pool Manager or designee, may be asked to leave the premises at any time. Failure to leave will result in disciplinary action decided on by the Board of Directors, up to and including loss of membership. 
  2. Running, pushing, dunking, and rough play, as judged by the Pool Manager or lifeguards, are prohibited inside the pool enclosure at all times. 
  3. Pool toys must be used in a safe manner and in consideration of others around them. The Pool Manager or lifeguards will have the authority to deem if a toy is being used safely and considerately. 
  4. Any minor required to sit out three (3) times within one week by the HCRA staff will only be allowed to return with adult supervision for the rest of the year. 
  5. No one over six (6) years of age is allowed to use the wading pool (baby pool). Children in the wading pool must be accompanied by an adult. The lifeguard will exercise general supervision over the wading pool, but is not responsible for anyone inside the wading pool enclosure. 
  6. Only coast-guard certified flotation devices may be worn past the 3.5 foot depth. Anyone wearing a flotation device must be under direct adult supervision. 
  7. Accidents shall be reported to staff immediately, so a report can be filed. 
  8. The Pool Manager or their designee has the authority to vacate all persons from the pool deck area if, at their discretion, the pool enclosure is in a condition to endanger the health and safety of the members. The pool will remain vacated until the condition is corrected. 
  9. Everyone must leave the pool in the event of an emergency. The signal for this is three blasts from the lifeguard’s whistle. 
    • The pool shall be cleared for 30 minutes at the first sound of thunder. 
    • The pool and pool deck shall be cleared for 30 minutes at the first sighting of lightning. 
    • The pool and/or pool deck shall reopen after no sound of thunder or sighting of lightning for 30 minutes. 
    • The Manager or his designee shall have the authority to close the pool for the remainder of the day after carefully assessing current and forecasted weather conditions.
  1. Use of the diving well and deep sections of our pools are restricted to capable swimmers.  The following rules must be observed in the diving well of the pool: 
    • Under no circumstances are non-swimmers allowed in the diving area. 
    • Questionable swimmers will be asked by management or lifeguards to demonstrate their skills to use these areas of the pools.
    • The diving board must be used only as intended.
    • Only one person is allowed on the diving board at a time.
    • The diving well must be cleared before anyone uses the diving board.
    • No face masks or goggles allowed in the diving well.
    • The fulcrum on the diving board may only be moved by staff and dive team members during practice and meets.

GENERAL CONDUCT

  1. Members may bring their own food and drinks. 
    • No glass containers of any kind are allowed in the pool enclosure. 
    • All trash must be placed in the proper receptacles. 
    • The consumption of food must be done at tables and/or chairs on the pool deck or in the tennis pavilion. – No food is allowed in the pool at any time. 
    • No unattended beverages on the side of the pool. – No beverages in the pool.
    • Alcohol may be consumed discreetly and responsibly by members and guests over 21. Those consuming alcohol are expected to abide by all state laws. 
  2. The use of tobacco/marijuana products is prohibited on HCRA’s property. Tobacco products include but are not limited to cigarettes, cigars, vapes, pipes, electronic “e” cigarettes, marijuana in any form, dipping, and chewing tobacco. 
  3. No use of illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia will be allowed on the Association’s premises. Any violation of this rule will be subject to immediate suspension and possible expulsion by the Board of Directors. 
  4. No member or guest is permitted to carry a dangerous object of any kind on Hungary Creek’s property. Dangerous objects include, but are not limited to, firearms, ammunition, switchblades, knives, brass knuckles, tasers, stun guns, explosives, fireworks, firecrackers, stink bombs, etc. Additionally, the possession of look alike dangerous objects or those used as toys or for sport (e.g. paintball guns, air pistols, etc.) is prohibited. Any violation of this rule will result in immediate suspension by the pool manager. Additional consequences may include loss of membership and referral to the Henrico County Police. 
  5. Any instruction for swimming, diving, and tennis shall only be permitted by HCRA paid instructors or authorized/approved contractors (i.e., paid instruction by members or guests is not permitted unless authorized/approved by HCRA). 
  6. Clean, Family-friendly swimwear is required (no thongs or other overly-revealing swimwear.) 
  7. Adults and children are required to change in the bathhouse. Deck changing is not permitted. 
  8. Members shall instruct their children and guests’ children in personal hygiene and  instruct them to use the restroom facilities in the bathhouse.  
  9. Pavilion and Picnic rentals must be made on the pool website and after hours party reservations must be made with the pool manager. 
  10. Pavilion tables must not be moved out of place without permission from the Pool Manager or their designee. 
  11. Everyone must exercise extreme care in driving, both in the driveway and in the parking lot. Anyone operating a vehicle in a careless manner will be subject to disciplinary actions. 
  12. Members and guests shall park their cars in an orderly fashion for the maximum utilization of the parking facilities. 
  13. Bicycles shall be parked in the provided bike rack. 
  14. Basket Ball Court, Volleyball Court, Tennis/Pickball Courts, and Swings shall be used only as intended. Abuse of equipment (throwing sand, hanging on nets, standing on swings etc.) is prohibited. This policy is at the discretion of the Pool Manager or their designee. 
  15. Members and guests using the volleyball court must rinse all sand from the body before entering the pool enclosure, and use of the volleyball court during swim meets is prohibited. 

 

POOL GUESTS 

  1. One Day guest passes are $5.00 dollars per person and can be purchased on the pool website or at the gate for ages 4 and up; Children under the age of 4 are free. 
    • Memorial Day and Fourth of July will require two (2) guest passes per guest. 2. Guest passes are valid for the season of purchase only. 
  2. An individual is permitted to be a guest at HCRA no more than 8 (eight) times during a season regardless of the member they sign in with. Guest attendance will be tracked using the pool sign in system. 
  3. For Non-member sitters, the cost shall be $100.00 and the baby-sitter pass will be presented to the sitter. The pass will be valid each day that the pool is open. 

Any violation of these rules, not being properly administered by the staff (whether intentionally or unintentionally), should be reported to the Pool Manager or the Board (if manager is not available) giving complete details of or objections to the incident in writing to officers@hungarycreek.org or mailed to Hungary Creek Recreation Association, 9194 Hungary Road, Henrico, VA 23294. The Board will investigate each incident and take such action as deemed necessary. 

THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE RULES LISTED WILL BE DETERMINED BY THE APPROPRIATE STAFF AND/OR BOARD MEMBERS.
